About Mike Neer

I’ve had my hand on a guitar or some other instrument as far back as I can remember (yeah, that’s me in the middle at about 2 y/o). I was self-taught for the first 20 years of my life until I realized that I’d gone about as far as I could on my own. As my ears evolved and my interest in more adventurous music grew, I sought instruction from some of my favorite guitarists to find the “magic” I was missing. That magic was nothing more than dedication and willingness to listen and learn. I have a voracious appetite for learning about music. If you are here, chances are you do too. I hope to share everything I’ve learned and discovered about music and, in particular, the steel guitar since I fell in love with it about 40 years ago.
